Now in our 3rd season, Ayer’s vibrant community garden seeks a volunteer to work closely with the director & executive committee managing garden operations.
Working as part of a small team, the Ayer Community Garden Volunteer Co-Director will help nurture the community garden, fostering it to be a beautiful learning, growing space for all who use it. This position assists in the stewardship and operations of our gardens ensuring that they are welcoming, functional places for our gardeners to grow.
Ayer Community Garden is a fully volunteer run community project. Up to 26 gardeners have plots. Several of our plots are dedicated for donations to local food bank.
This would be a 4-10 hour per week commitment, with flexible hours. Included will be a variety of office and manual tasks, which may include**:
- Bookkeeping
- Supply inventory
- Monitor conditions in and around the garden area
- Help with fundraising
- Grant writing and fund development
**Most assigned tasks based on applicant’s skills and interest
The Community Garden Volunteer Co-Director will be a vital link between community garden, gardeners, and the resources available to them. In addition to getting your own FREE garden plot, you'll have the opportunity to listen to and help gardeners establish and reach their goals.
