Early Literacy Innovation Zone of North Central MA

Early Literacy Innovation Zone of North Central MA is a collaboration of funders, educators, communities and corporate sponsors who are working to increase the literacy skills of the children in the participating communities so that they are reaching third grade with an appropriate reading level - third grade is the turning point in a child's education where they shift from "Learning to read" and start "Reading to learn." Reaching as many children as possible in the region will help us achieve the goal of leveling the playing field for children who don't have the same opportunities and literacy experiences as many of their peers.

The Early Literacy Zone of North Central Massachusetts - Powered by Footsteps2Brilliance is working in North Central Massachusetts to improve literacy skills for children from birth through 3rd grade. Currently the program is available in Ashby, Athol, Ayer, Clinton, Fitchburg, Gardner, Leominster, Lunenburg, Pepperell, Phillipston, Royalston, Shirley, Templeton, Townsend, Winchendon. The collaboration seeks to help the children and families in the participating communities to learn about, sign-up, and get the most out of the use the Footsteps2Brilliance.
