North County Land Trust

Who We Are

NCLT fulfills its land conservation mission by facilitating land conservation projects that benefit communities, by its stewardship of public access conservation land, and by promoting conservation through environmental education programs and nature hikes. NCLT works to build partnerships in the communities it serves, by engaging with private landowners, municipal agencies, grass roots groups, and other organizations. We offer educational programs, nature hikes, stewardship committees, and other activities on our public conservation areas.

What We Do

North County Land Trust is a non-profit regional land conservation organization working in the diverse communities of north central Massachusetts. Our mission is to protect the land and water resources of north central Massachusetts by preserving the farms, forests, and landscapes that define the character of our region. North County Land Trust was founded in 1992, with the donation of the 150-acre Crocker Conservation Area in Fitchburg. In addition to the CCA, NCLT owns six public access conservation areas: Kirby Conservation Area in Ashburnham, Peabody Conservation Area in Lunenburg, Rome Conservation Area in Gardner, Underwood Road Conservation Area in Hubbardston, Dwelly Farm in Templeton and our newly acquired Zins Conservation Area in Princeton. All NCLT conservation areas are open to the public for hiking, passive recreation, environmental education and similar activities. We welcome volunteer help to monitor and maintain our conservation areas. We also welcome public support and participation in educational and recreational programs and activities on our conservation areas.
