What We Do

The Lancaster Community Center mission is to improve the lives of Lancaster, and area residents by providing cultural, social, and physical fitness opportunities. The Center also serves as a gathering place for area residents, for meetings, functions, and emergency shelter. The Council on Aging ( Senior Center) mission is to improve the lives of residents in the area over 60, and their families as well as residents with disabilities through advocacy, resource referral, social opportunities and economic assistance. The Community Center just celebrated it's second birthday. In that time we have initiated diverse programming, which we are hoping to build on. We continue to work on the building and grounds which host many of the programs. The Community Center is in a refurbished school originally built in the 1950s, just off the town green in the Center of Lancaster.
