Who We Are

The Gardner Community Action Committee, Inc. (Gardner CAC) serves the economically disadvantaged in the Greater Gardner community. All twelve programs offered through the Gardner CAC are designed to promote self-sufficiency and encourage positive changes. These twelve programs are Food Distribution, Medical Transportation for the elderly and handicap, Fellowship Table (weekly congregate meal), Emergency Assistance, NWC Help Connection, Clothing Closet, Magic of Books, Holiday Programs, online MA Health applications, online Food Stamp applications, Fuel Assistance Satellite office and Bonnie Brae application pick-up and drop-off location. The Gardner CAC fills the gap for those not yet receiving services and perpetual service for those living on low-fixed incomes and the working poor.

What We Do

The purpose of the Gardner CAC is to provide services and resources to those in need.

Our core values…

Respect - We embrace diversity and treat everyone with kindness and compassion

Volunteers - We believe that they are our most valuable asset and that volunteerism is mutually beneficial

Relationships - Being responsible with funding, donations and resources helps us to maintain positive relationships in the community and with one another

Founded in 1970 by a group of concerned citizens, the Gardner CAC has continued to grow from a small food pantry offering services once every three months to currently offering 12 distinct programs with the food pantry serving those in need once a month.
