The Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program is an essential and critical part of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) continuum. It provides a gateway to the VA and community-based supportive services for the homeless. The program utilizes Contracted Residential Services (CRS) in community locations to engage Veterans experiencing homelessness. Central Massachusetts community service providers indicate a need for additional shelter beds in general, let alone those for Veterans. Clear Path for Veterans New England Inc. is in the final phases of rehabbing 99 Church Street in Leominster, MA, for the Veteran Emergency Housing program. Once operational, this program will serve approximately 80 veterans annually, providing them with safe, stable housing and wraparound support services to aid in their transition to permanent housing. We are requesting assistance in preparing the Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA) units to accommodate 20 veterans. This effort will involve moving furniture and bedding into place, setting up the beds, and applying linens to each unit to ensure they are move-in ready. Additionally, we seek support in setting up the common areas—including the day room, computer lab, and other shared spaces—to create welcoming, functional environments where veterans can relax, connect, and access critical resources. Your support will directly contribute to creating a dignified and supportive home-like setting for the veterans who will call 99 Church Street their temporary home.
